Yvonne is the Head of Sustainability at Ornua. When she embarked on her studies at University College Cork in 2006, she had no idea what to expect as a commerce student - all she knew was that she wanted to fly high and she'd work out the specifics later! Yvonne quickly realised a plan, a goal and an understanding of what made her happy- which was crucial in stepping on to a path she could shape and grow as a person and as a professional. Her career journey began in London where- working for a commercial re-branding company- Yvonne got the chance to work with global clients on their projects. She quickly developed a passion for communications and engaging with clients and stakeholders. Yvonne returned to Dublin to assume a role in communications in the energy sector, going on to spend some time in Brussels developing her skills further in this area while simultaneously travelling and developing her interpersonal skills along the way. Over the course of a few years, Yvonne became aware of the sustainability challenges which faced us as a society. When moving into the agri-food and dairy industry in 2017, Yvonne began work with Ornua - communicating through some great work underway that Ireland is the most sustainable place in the world in which to produce quality dairy. In 2018, Yvonne assumed the position of Head of Sustainability for Ornua, leading a small team from their Dublin office and working with her colleagues across the globe. She has enjoyed every moment of the journey so far and hope to help others to become clearer in their direction of travel while making the journey fun along the way. She has been inspired by some amazing female leaders and she wants the opportunity to pay this forward!
