Sian is the Commercial and Operations Director at Arcadis. She joined EC Harris in 1999, prior to its merger with Arcadis, in 2011. She started off as reception cover and admin support and learnt the basics of office life. She has been fortunate enough to be given the opportunities to progress through the business working in various roles covering finance and operations, across a multitude of sectors. She has also been fortunate to have the opportunity to work in a number of client facing roles supporting changes within their businesses. Sian is currently the Commercial and Operations Director for the Resilience business in the UK for Arcadis, where she has been for 5+ years now and during this time made partner. She didn’t take the typical route to this role that people might expect. She didn’t go to university, she doesn't have a degree, and her accountancy qualifications were undertaken while she was working in a junior role. Sian has experienced big challenges to get to where she is now but she is lucky to have always been surrounded by people who wanted to help and support her, so she focuses on paying that back and coaches and mentors a number of people internally and externally to Arcadis.
