Emeir O Dowd currently works as Marketing Planning Manager for Penneys/Primark supporting the global marketing strategy for the business.
She gained her degree in Retail & Services Management at DIT in 2009 and had joined Primark in 2006 as a Weekend Manager in Penneys Mary Street while completing her degree.
Over the course of her almost 15 years at Primark she has been promoted to a number of different roles including supporting Breege O Donoghue (now retired Board Member) with Corporate PR & Advertising, working for the Chief Executive, Paul Marchant as an Executive Assistant, taking on the role of Brand Business Partner for New Business Development, managing the global New Store Opening programme across Europe & US and most recently the position of Marketing Planning Manager.
Her current role is to help plan and support the overall marketing campaign strategy with the Director of Marketing and partnering with teams across the Brand & Store Development function to ensure consistency and cohesion with how marketing campaigns are communicated to customers. This sees her work alongside stakeholders such as web, social, fashion communications, creative, the product business partners, internal communications and corporate affairs.
Relationship building is an essential part of her role. Investing in and developing trusted and strong relationships across the business has been crucial. Alongside developing her team, these are parts of the job she enjoys the most.
Last year Emeir project managed Primark’s 1st Pop-Up for Primark Wellness at Boxpark Shoreditch and working alongside the CSR team, delivered the Power of Us Community Care packages to frontline workers across the global estate.
