Annett is an advocate of portfolio careers, striking a balance of work and life whilst continuously learning and developing. She is all about global opportunities, discovery of new skills, new approaches and taking on new challenges. Having started with a MA in Sociology/Islamic Studies from Humboldt University in Berlin, Annett moved into HR/Assessments and Training when she lived in the Middle East for 15 years. She did a post-grad course in HRM with Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen and then moved to Ireland. She had to reinvent herself again and adapt whilst raising two children without much support as her husband travelled a lot for work. She merged two of her passions, still trains in a corporate world, writes CVs, prepares clients for their interviews, does cross cultural coaching but also teaches Pilates and Barre during the week and weekends. She found her balance so far in being flexible - some weeks she works seven days a week, late nights and during other weeks she might work less but supports her kids more. She is not at the end yet, once her oldest has flown the nest and her youngest is older, she is going to look into pushing her career maybe into a slightly different direction, maybe move abroad, again, or see how she can merge her two careers into one or into three. Annett learned a lot during a few international moves; knowing how to adapt to working and national cultures, reinventing and thriving for a rewarding career.
