Helen Desbois is an actress, radio presenter, voice actor and recording artist with more than 20 years experience in the entertainment industry. British born Desbois, spent most of her life in South Africa where she made her mark as an actress, musical theatre performer and South African Music Award nominated recording artist. After the birth of her son in 2008, she realised that life would have to adapt to enable her to be close to home to raise him and radio seemed like the perfect option.
With many years of being a professional voice artist under her belt, the move to radio was an easy one and she landed her first slot presenting a morning show in 2010, for which she won the radio award for Best Presenter. Breakfast radio beckoned and she became the host of a talk show for which she was also nominated. During this time, she really fell in love with and honed her interviewing skills, even having the honour of featuring John Cleese, Dynamo Magician and Oscar Winner Lupita Nyong'o to name a few people. She continued her radio career as co-host of a popular breakfast show in SA and cut her teeth as a newsreader too, scooping the Best Newsreader Radio Award in 2018.
2018 also saw Helen winning Media Woman Of The Year for the Woman Of Stature Awards, specifically for her work on her entertainment blog, Showbiz In Full HD.
Dublin is now her home and after moving here in early 2019, she is already making her mark as an actress with credits in a few short films, a CBS Reality Tv show and a commercial too. You can catch her on Dublin City FM's 'Good Morning Dublin' sharing local news and interviews.
