Jane is the Employer Engagement Director in Code Institute. She's part of the senior leadership team, with Code Institute being a rapidly growing, globally operating EdTech business. EdTEch is a really exciting area, and their core business is professional, accredited, technical and flexible education, which enables people to become software developers.

Jane's team contributes to recruitment and careers. In advance of becoming software developers, Code Institute students need to realise their strengths, unique attributes, understand the industry and prepare. Her team helps to build confidence, exposure and understanding with their students so that they approach their new career pivots effectively. Jane's team also partners and works with really exciting companies on a global network who hire software developers.

A little over ten years ago, Jane had found herself in a professional whirlpool as motherhood had happened pretty early for her. Jane spent her twenties juggling shifts, serving lattes and balancing things as best she could, while her friends raced forward in their careers. It was confusing at times, and she would have loved a Mentor! After coming out the other side, Jane believes she can help someone figure this out, and gain confidence.

Jane offers a small tip ahead of the programme: "Often what you see as being challenges can actually be advantages in the business world, which took me a while to understand how to put this into practice!"
